About Mux

Mux provides video infrastructure for developers. Its services cover video processing, storage, streaming, and analytics for video experiences. The company is based in San Francisco, United States, and was founded in 2015 by Jon Dahl, Steve Heffernan, Matt McClure, and Adam Brown.

The brand name is connected to multiplexing in video technology. Mux’s focus on infrastructure spans the work involved in handling video, from preparing and storing it to delivering streams and measuring the viewing experience.

Meaning and History of the Mux Logo

The Mux logo is a wordmark made from the letters MUX, with rounded forms constructed on a 16 × 16 grid inspired by macroblocks. In the Large version, small circular details or areas of circular negative space appear at several letter ends, adding distinctive features to the otherwise compact lettering.

The complete letter arrangement forms the logo. Its construction is designed as a unified wordmark, so the letters should be considered together when placing the mark. The rounded shapes and clear letterforms keep the name legible as a single visual unit.

Mux Color Palette

The primary logo colorways are black in the positive version and white in the negative version. These treatments provide contrast for placement on light or dark backgrounds while keeping the artwork’s original color treatment consistent.
