The Gorontalo Utara Regency emblem consists of a pentagonal shield with a pair of spread wings and symbols of faith, local livelihoods, and community welfare. Its documented elements also include a five-pointed star, a coconut tree, the sea, rice, cotton, and a chain.
- Pentagonal shield and star: The pentagonal shield symbolizes protection, resilience, and the philosophy of Pancasila as a foundation of national life. The five-pointed gold star symbolizes belief in the One Almighty God and the community’s religious values, aligned with the Gorontalo adat philosophy, “Adat bersendikan syara', syara' bersendikan Kitabullah”.
- Spread maleo wings: The pair of spread wings of the maleo bird symbolizes the dynamism of the Gorontalo Utara community and its readiness to advance and compete.
- Coconut tree and sea: These depict the regency’s coastal setting. The coconut tree represents copra as a principal commodity and an economic resource for coastal and agricultural communities.
- Rice and cotton: These symbolize prosperity, social justice, and the goal of ensuring the community’s needs for food and clothing.
- Chain: The chain symbolizes unity, mutual cooperation, and strong bonds of kinship among community members regardless of social status.
