West Asian Football Federation (WAFF) is a football tournament and governing body for West Asia, founded in 2001. It organizes the West Asian Football Federation Championship and is commonly referred to by the abbreviation WAFF. The federation was established by Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, and Syria.
Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Yemen joined in 2009, followed by Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, and Saudi Arabia in 2010. Countries outside the federation have also been invited to take part in its competitions; for example, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan were invited to the first edition in 2000.
