Tips for a better result
Choose the final width
Export at a size suitable for the place where the PNG will appear. Enlarging a small PNG later can make it look soft.
Check transparency
Transparent output preserves transparent areas in the SVG; it does not remove a white shape already drawn in the file.
Use color and padding when needed
A solid background can create space around the artwork. The checkerboard, light, and dark preview surfaces do not change the download.
Use a self-contained SVG
If the file refers to an external image, font, or stylesheet, embed it or export a plain SVG before converting.
Frequently asked questions
Does 512 px mean width or height?
It sets the PNG width. The height follows the SVG's aspect ratio, so the exported image is not forced into a square.
Can I enter a custom height?
Yes. Enter either width or height in Custom; the other dimension updates to keep the SVG's proportions.
Is my SVG uploaded to a server?
No. The file is read and converted in your browser.
Will transparent output remove a white background?
No. It preserves transparent areas already in the SVG. A white shape or background drawn into the SVG remains visible.
Can I convert every SVG?
The file must be a valid SVG up to 10 MB that your browser can render. SVGs with external file or URL references are not accepted.
Will the PNG stay sharp if I enlarge it later?
PNG is a raster image with fixed dimensions. For a larger placement, export another PNG at a greater width from the original SVG.
