SVG TO WEBP, IN YOUR BROWSER

Prepare your SVG artwork for the web.

Convert SVG to WebP for website assets, thumbnails, and image uploads that accept WebP. Keep transparent areas, choose pixel dimensions, and adjust compression quality before downloading.

  1. 01

    Start with your SVG

Choose one local SVG up to 10 MB, or try the ZonaLogo example. Your file is not uploaded.

  2. 02

    Set size & transparency

Pick a width, keep the background transparent or choose a color, then adjust quality.

  3. 03

    Check & download WebP

Inspect edges and file size in the preview. Save the .webp file for a destination that supports it.

TRANSPARENCY INCLUDED

Keep the background open. Or make it yours.

WebP supports transparent areas even with lossy compression. This converter starts transparent, so a logo can sit on your website background without a solid rectangle around it.

A solid background enables 0–30% padding, initially 10%. Transparent output ignores padding. Neither mode removes a white shape already drawn inside your SVG.

Transparent output

Keep the space around your artwork clear.

Solid background

Choose a color and add room with padding.

Illustration using the ZonaLogo mark: transparent areas reveal the checkerboard; a solid background fills them. The checkerboard is not part of the download.

PIXELS, QUALITY & FILE SIZE

Export for the space it will occupy.

Fixed pixel output · original proportions preserved

Match your website's image dimensions.

Start at 512 px wide, choose 1024 or 2048 px, or enter a custom width or height. The other side follows your SVG ratio. Both dimensions must stay within 16–4096 px; export again from the source when you need a larger image.

90%

Starting quality

Adjustable from 1–100%

Balance detail with compression.

Start at 90%, then lower quality gradually while checking small text and curved edges. Compare the generated file size. Quality is not a percentage reduction in bytes, and 100% does not guarantee lossless output.

BEFORE YOU PUBLISH

Check the result, not just the extension.

Check source dimensions, text, and references.

Open SVG Viewer & Editor
A white background is still visible

Select Transparent in export settings. If white remains, it may be a shape in the source SVG; this tool does not remove backgrounds from artwork.

The logo looks soft on the page

Avoid stretching a small raster export. Generate enough pixels from the SVG for its intended display size, and increase quality if compression affects edges.

A font changed or the SVG was rejected

Use a valid, self-contained SVG up to 10 MB with usable dimensions or a viewBox. Remove active content and external references. Convert text to paths in the source application if the font is unavailable.

The destination will not accept WebP

Check the upload service or app's allowed formats. Browser image support does not mean every service accepts WebP. If export itself fails, try another browser or output format.

CHOOSE WITH CONFIDENCE

SVG to WebP questions, answered.

Should I keep SVG or convert to WebP?

Keep SVG for scalable vector artwork when your destination accepts it. Export WebP when you need a raster image at specific dimensions. To reduce SVG markup while keeping the vector format, use the SVG Optimizer.

Can this converter produce lossless WebP?

It offers the browser's quality control, not an explicit lossless encoding mode. Although WebP supports lossless compression, setting this tool to 100% is not a lossless guarantee.

When should I use PNG or JPG instead?

Use PNG when you need transparent raster artwork and the destination does not accept WebP. Choose JPG when JPEG is required and a solid background is suitable. Compare formats against the actual upload requirements.

Is SVG to WebP conversion free and private?

The tool is free and needs no account. Your selected SVG is read and converted in your browser; the converter does not upload it to a server or persist a draft.

Can I convert several files or create an animation?

This converter exports one static WebP at a time. It does not provide batch, ZIP, or animated WebP export. Keep your original SVG if you need to preserve animation or edit the artwork later.

Will my file follow me when I switch formats?

No. Each format has its own page. Choose the SVG again on the destination page; the file and export settings are not transferred.
