The Kepahiang Regency emblem consists of a green pentagonal shield containing symbols associated with the regency’s highland geography, natural resources, and customary values. The shield represents Kepahiang’s territory as firmly grounded in Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution, while its green field depicts the fertility of the highland soil and the prosperity of its natural environment.
- Bukit Kaba hills silhouette: The hills depict Kepahiang’s highland location, surrounded by fertile and verdant hills.
- Rice and coffee bundle: These crops represent agriculture and plantation commodities that are central to the local economy and support residents’ welfare.
- Seven ties: The ties around the rice and coffee symbolize the regency’s inauguration on January 7 and the unity of its residents.
- Water and estuary circle: The water represents Kepahiang’s abundant water resources as a source of life. The single estuary circle symbolizes January, the first month, as the month when the regency was established.
- Cerano and keris: The traditional betel container and dagger symbolize customary values, honor, and the principles of life upheld by Kepahiang’s customary community.
- SEHASEN ribbon: The ribbon bears the official regional motto, an acronym expressing the community’s philosophy through “Selaras, Elok, Harmonis, Aman, Sentosa, Estetis, Nikmat”.
The form and meaning of the Kepahiang Regency emblem are set out in Kepahiang Regency Regional Regulation No. 07 of 2005. The regulation provides the legal basis for the emblem’s shape and symbolism.
