Associazione Calcio Firenze Fiorentina, commonly known as Fiorentina, is an Italian professional football club based in Firenze, Italy. The club currently competes in Serie A. Its original team was established through a merger in August 1926, while the current club was refounded in August 2002 following bankruptcy.

Fiorentina has played in Italy’s top division for most of its history, with only four clubs having appeared in more Serie A seasons. The club is widely associated with the nickname “Viola,” reflecting its distinctive purple colours, and has represented Firenze in domestic and European football for decades.
