The Badung Regency emblem consists of an equal-sided pentagon with a sea-blue field, depicting an 11-tier Meru, a keris, and rice and cotton.
- Pentagonal form and field: The equal-sided pentagon symbolizes Pancasila as the foundation of the Indonesian nation’s philosophy of life. The sea-blue field symbolizes sources of welfare, fertility, and comfort in a region bordered by mountains and the sea.
- Eleven-tier Meru: The Meru symbolizes a mountain, the universe (bhuwana), peace, prosperity, and the highest realm (eka dasa dhik lokapala).
- Three-luk keris: The sacred heirloom (pajenengan) is black with a sandalwood-yellow hilt. It reflects the spirit of Puputan Badung and the knightly qualities of wealth, physical strength, and knowledge.
- Rice and cotton: These symbolize clothing and food. The 16 grains of rice, 9 cotton leaves, and 11 coils of binding cord mark 16 November 2009, the date Mangupura was designated the regency capital.
- Colors: White symbolizes purity; black, strength, firmness, and steadfastness; gold-yellow, nobility and grandeur; sandalwood-yellow, prosperity; green, fertility; and red, valor and courage.
The Badung Regency emblem carries the red motto “Çura Dharma Rakṣaka”, meaning “brave to defend the truth”.
