The Bangli Regency emblem consists of an equal-sided pentagonal shield, with a star and rays above a central field showing a meru, a Candi Bentar, a mountain and lake, sky, rice and cotton, and a chain. Below these elements, a castor leaf appears above land, with a ribbon bearing the regional motto. The emblem represents Bangli in Bali.
- Pentagonal shield and star: The shield symbolizes the philosophy of Pancasila, while the star symbolizes belief in the One Almighty God.
- Rays and sky: These elements symbolize brightness, brilliance, and a clear sky.
- Meru and Candi Bentar: The nine-tiered meru symbolizes religious life, spiritual values, and custom. The Candi Bentar symbolizes Bali’s artistic and cultural richness.
- Mountain and lake: These depict Bangli’s natural environment, known for Mount and Lake Batur. The water waves symbolize dynamic movement.
- Rice, cotton, and chain: Rice and cotton symbolize prosperity and the availability of food and clothing; the chain symbolizes close unity. Their counts also refer to Indonesian Independence Proclamation Day: 17 cotton bolls, 8 chain links, and 45 grains of rice, alongside one star.
- Castor leaf: The leaf refers to the historical origin of the name “Bangli,” associated with “Bang Ti,” meaning bamboo or castor forest.
- Ribbon motto: The ribbon reads “BHUKTI MUKTI BHAKTI.” It expresses service to attain material welfare and inner happiness.
Regional Regulation No. 8/PERDA/1976 established the Bangli Regency emblem as an official identity representing local philosophy, natural conditions, history, and arts and culture. This legal basis and the motto “BHUKTI MUKTI BHAKTI” are documented features of this regional symbol.
