The Klungkung Regency emblem consists of a pentagonal form with a sky-blue field and gold border, surrounding symbols that refer to the regency’s history, values, and development. The emblem also includes the motto “Dharmaning Ksatriya Mahottama” on a ribbon below.
- Pentagonal form: The five-sided form symbolizes Pancasila as the foundation of the Republic of Indonesia.
- Colors: The sky-blue field symbolizes determination, loyalty, calm, and peace. The gold border symbolizes grandeur, nobility, and the regency’s glory.
- Pemedal Agung: The red gate has gold doors and 11 steps. It symbolizes the former center of the Klungkung Kingdom’s glory and magnificence.
- Five-curved keris: The silver-white keris symbolizes purity, courage, and the people’s firm resolve to defend the truth.
- Eight-pointed star: The gold star at the top symbolizes belief in the One Almighty God, spiritual guidance, and religious harmony.
- Rice, cotton, and lotus leaves: The 28 grains of rice, 8 cotton blossoms, and 4 yellow lotus leaves symbolize social justice, prosperity, and food and clothing for all. Their number pattern, 28-4-08, commemorates the Puputan Klungkung War of April 28, 1908.
