The Cilacap Regency emblem consists of a five-pointed star, a hero monument with flames, a Wijayakusuma flower, rice and cotton, a pair of sharks, and water waves. These elements reflect the regency’s history, geographic setting, and aspirations as described in the official emblem documentation.

  • Five-pointed star: The star symbolizes the community’s lofty ideals and its Pancasila-based character.
  • Hero monument and flames: The monument symbolizes the people’s heroic struggle during the 1945 Revolution. Its five tongues of flame and four connected water waves signify the spirit of struggle based on Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, and the spirit of 1945.
  • Wijayakusuma flower: The flower symbolizes the revelation of past glory and forms a distinctive feature of the living emblem of Cilacap Regency.
  • Rice and cotton: These elements symbolize the aspiration for a just and prosperous community in clothing and food. The 17 rice grains and eight cotton blossoms, together with the Wijayakusuma’s four and five calyx elements, symbolize August 17, 1945, the date of the Proclamation.
  • Pair of sharks: The sharks indicate Cilacap Regency’s geographic identity as a coastal area on the Southern Ocean and a fish-producing region.
  • Water waves: The four wave curves depict the waters of the Southern Ocean.

The Cilacap Regency emblem is set out as the official emblem in Regional Regulation No. 7 of 1987. Its motto, “Jala Bhumi Wijayakusuma Çakti”, means the ability and driving force to cultivate land, sea, and water for shared prosperity; its regional slogan is “Cilacap Bercahaya”, an abbreviation for “Bersih, Elok, Rapi, Ceria, Aman, Hijau, Asri, dan Dihayati.”
