Kendal Regency Emblem

The Kendal Regency emblem consists of a shield with a yellow background and a blue wave base. It includes a gear, rice and cotton, a batik-patterned boat above the sea, a kris, and the motto “Ngesti Widdhi”. These features identify Kendal Regency in Central Java through documented references to community values, development, culture, and its coastal setting.

• Shield and colors: The shield symbolizes the protection and resilience of the people of Kendal. Yellow symbolizes harmony and nobility of character, red signifies courage and firmness in facing challenges, and blue represents a peace-loving community and the potential of the waters and sea.
• Motto: “Ngesti Widdhi” expresses that the intentions and efforts of the community are founded on seeking the approval of the One Almighty God.
• Gear: The ten-toothed gear symbolizes the spirit of development, dynamic work, and industry.
• Rice and cotton: The 28 grains of rice and seven cotton blossoms symbolize aspirations for prosperity and well-being, as well as references to clothing and food.
• Batik-patterned boat: The boat above the sea indicates Kendal’s identity as a coastal or maritime area with abundant marine products.
• Kris: The kris symbolizes the cultural heirloom of the ancestors, courage, and steadfastness.

The Kendal Regency emblem was established under Regional Regulation No. 21 of 2011. This legal basis documents the adoption of the emblem and its stated meanings, including the motto and the emblem’s symbolic elements.
