The Aceh Tamiang Regency emblem combines a pentagonal frame, a star, traditional motifs, an open book, agricultural symbols, an oil tower, and a ribbon.
- Pentagonal frame and star: The frame symbolizes Pancasila as the foundation of the state and the pillars of Islam. The star symbolizes divinity and the community’s religious observance alongside customary traditions.
- Pucok Rebong motif: This traditional motif symbolizes unity and the history of fellowship among the Tamiang people.
- Tepak Sireh: The betel arrangement symbolizes the noble customs of the Aceh, Tamiang, and Gayo communities, including peace, friendship, and respect.
- Open book: The book symbolizes knowledge, a culture of reading, and the importance of education in the regency.
- Rice and cotton: These symbols represent prosperity and the community’s main food source. Their ties number eight, representing the number of subdistricts when the regency was first formed.
- Oil tower: The tower represents oil and natural gas resources, including the Pertamina refining sector, as well as maritime potential.
- Water ripples and tower steps: Two ripples at the bottom refer to the second day, and seven steps on the oil tower refer to the seventh month, together indicating the regency’s founding date, July 2, 2002.
The ribbon on the Aceh Tamiang Regency emblem carries the official motto “Kaseh Pape, Setie Mati” in Tamiang Malay, expressing compassion for the poor and loyalty unto death.
