Aceh Utara Regency Emblem

The Aceh Utara Regency emblem consists of a pentagonal shield containing symbols associated with culture, statehood, struggle, and the region’s natural resources.

• Pentagonal shield: The shield symbolizes the philosophy of Pancasila and serves as a protection for the local community.
• Star: Positioned at the top, the star symbolizes belief in the One Almighty God and represents aspirations and guidance for regional progress.
• Mosque dome: The dome reflects the practice of Islamic law and a devout, harmonious religious life among the people of Aceh Utara.
• Rencong: This traditional Acehnese weapon is shown upright. It symbolizes patriotism, strength, courage, and heroism in defending honor and justice.
• Rice and cotton: These elements symbolize prosperity, welfare, and social justice, and point to the region’s agricultural potential.
• Motto on the ribbon: The ribbon at the bottom carries “Hudep Saree, Matee Syahid,” a motto expressing communal harmony and brotherhood, together with readiness to defend truth and religion.

The Aceh Utara Regency emblem also represents the area’s past prominence as the center of the Samudera Pasai Sultanate, a history reflected in the regency’s nickname, Bumoë Samudera Pasèe.
