The coat of arms of Aceh Province, known as Pancacita, has a pentagonal shield resembling an Acehnese kupiah or peci. Its name refers to five aspirations: justice, heroism, prosperity, harmony, and welfare.
- Dacin: The balance scale symbolizes justice.
- Rencong: This traditional weapon symbolizes heroism.
- Prosperity symbols: Rice, cotton, pepper, and a factory chimney are associated with prosperity.
- Mosque dome: The dome symbolizes harmony.
- Book and kalam: These elements symbolize welfare; the Aceh Community Empowerment Agency also groups them with the mosque dome as symbols of religion and knowledge.
- Colors: White symbolizes purity, yellow symbolizes glory, and green symbolizes welfare and prosperity.
Pancacita was established under Aceh Special Region Regulation No. 39 of 1961. Qanun Aceh No. 3 of 2013 on the Flag and Emblem of Aceh repealed that regulation and established a different emblem design. Government of Aceh websites and documents through 2025–2026 still display the coat of arms of Aceh Province as Pancacita, while the Aceh Ulema Council called in 2025 for implementation of the 2013 qanun.
