The Bener Meriah Regency emblem combines an outer shield resembling a mosque dome with the Radio Rimba Raya monument, coffee and rice plants, Kerawang Gayo ornament, and a ribbon bearing a motto.
- Mosque-dome-shaped shield: The outer shield symbolizes regional defense grounded in religious values and the community’s commitment to upholding Islamic Sharia.
- “Musara Pakat” ribbon: The motto means “united in consensus” and expresses communal cooperation, local democracy, and unity.
- Radio Rimba Raya monument: The monument symbolizes the area’s role in defending Indonesian independence through broadcasts to the world after Yogyakarta fell to the Dutch.
- Coffee and rice plants: These plants symbolize prosperity and food security, as well as the area’s important agricultural commodities.
- Kerawang Gayo ornament: This traditional Gayo motif represents cultural artistry, local wisdom, and customary values passed down through generations.
- Colors: Yellow or gold symbolizes glory, grandeur, and dignity. Green, white, and blue represent humility, purity, simplicity, and piety, as well as the area’s fertile, hilly, cool environment.
The Bener Meriah Regency emblem is regulated by Qanun Kabupaten Bener Meriah No. 15 Tahun 2005 on the Regional Emblem.
