The Batanghari Regency emblem consists of a five-sided shield outlined in white, with green, yellow, and blue fields. Its imagery includes a mosque peak, Keris Siginjai, an oil tower, a rubber tree, and a river dividing into two branches. The emblem also bears the regency’s name and motto.
- Border and colors: The white line around the shield symbolizes purity. Green symbolizes fertility, yellow symbolizes the wealth, glory, and greatness of the people of Batang Hari, and blue symbolizes the Batanghari River.
- Branched river: The two branches depict the meeting of two river flows. The branch on the left symbolizes the Batang Tembesi River, while the branch on the right symbolizes the Batanghari River.
- Keris Siginjai: This keris symbolizes the glory of the kingdoms and the struggle of the people of Jambi, including the people of Batang Hari, against colonial rule.
- Oil tower: The tower symbolizes the presence of oil mines in Batang Hari Regency.
- Rubber tree: The tree symbolizes the fertility and natural wealth of the region.
- Mosque peak: This feature symbolizes the faith and religious life of the people of Batang Hari, most of whom are Muslim.
The inscription “Kabupaten Batang Hari” gives the administrative name, while “Serentak Bak Regam” is the motto. The local government explains that the motto describes a community whose character and customs favor agreement and deliberation to reach consensus. A 2011 regional profile states that the Batanghari Regency emblem and its meanings were established under Batang Hari Regency Regional Regulation No. 38 of 1976.
