The Bekasi Regency emblem consists of a light green background, agricultural symbols, a traditional golok, a stack of red bricks, and waves. Its documented elements refer to the regency’s fertile lowland landscape, local livelihoods, and civic ideals.
- Light green background: This color symbolizes Bekasi Regency’s fertile lowland geography.
- Rice and agricultural produce: A strand of rice has 17 grains, and the emblem includes eight kinds of agricultural produce and secondary crops. These symbolize prosperity and agricultural food production; the counts also refer to Indonesia’s Independence Day, August 17.
- Traditional golok: The golok represents a traditional weapon of the Bekasi community. Its black handle symbolizes strong resilience, while its back symbolizes purity and the people’s chivalrous spirit in defending truth.
- Stack of red bricks: The stack symbolizes the number of subdistricts, villages, or hamlets, as well as mutual cooperation and the physical development of the region.
- Water waves: The waves depict the area’s waters, rivers, or coast, which are also sources of residents’ livelihoods.
- Motto: “Swatantra Wibawa Mukti” means an autonomous region capable of managing its own affairs, possessing dignity, and striving toward a successful and prosperous society.
The Bekasi Regency emblem is based on Regional Regulation No. 12/P.D./1962. Its motto, “Swatantra Wibawa Mukti,” expresses the ideal of an autonomous, dignified region working toward prosperity.
