The Aceh jaya Regency emblem consists of a green pentagonal shield bearing a mosque dome, a five-pointed star, rice and cotton, a rencong, a book and pen, a gear, and lines representing a river and the sea. A white ribbon carries the inscription “ACEH JAYA”.
- Pentagonal shield and green field: The pentagonal shield symbolizes the philosophy of Pancasila and strong regional defense within the Republic of Indonesia. Its green field symbolizes welfare, prosperity, and the fertility of Aceh Jaya’s land.
- Mosque dome and star: The mosque dome symbolizes the community’s Islamic life and observance of Islamic law. The five-pointed star represents belief in God and reinforces the principle of Pancasila.
- Book and pen: These symbolize a society that values knowledge, education, and the propagation of religion.
- Rencong: Positioned at the center, this traditional Acehnese weapon symbolizes heroism, bravery, and the people’s self-respect in defending their region. It also recalls the historical prominence of an area formed from the remnants of the former Kingdom of Negeri Daya.
- Rice and cotton: These symbolize prosperity, the provision of food and clothing, and the ideal of social justice for all residents.
- Gear: The gear represents the drive for development, industry, and progress toward a modern regional economy.
- River and sea lines; ribbon: The lines indicate the regency’s river and maritime setting and its marine and tourism potential. The white ribbon’s “ACEH JAYA” inscription identifies the region; white symbolizes sincerity in its development.
The regency identified by the Aceh jaya Regency emblem was expanded in 2002.
