Bandung Barat Regency Emblem

The Bandung Barat Regency emblem consists of a shield bearing six principal visual elements associated with religious life, science, industry, agriculture, water, and natural resources.

• Five-pointed star and Bosscha Observatory telescope: A yellow star against a blue background symbolizes a religious community. The Bosscha Observatory telescope symbolizes the area’s role as a center for scientific development.
• Industry image: Green imagery against a red background represents the industrial sector and the community’s dynamic work ethic.
• Banana tree and jasmine flower: A banana tree with green fronds and a white jasmine flower above it, set against red, symbolizes agricultural abundance and the nobility of local culture.
• Dam and water waves: Nineteen black, jagged dam forms symbolize the date or infrastructure’s steadfastness. Six blue and white waves symbolize abundant water resources; they appear against a green mountain background.
• Black bowl: The bowl symbolizes natural-resource and mining potential, including limestone, marble, and sand.
• Motto ribbon: The ribbon bears “Wibawa Mukti Kerta Raharja.” “Wibawa Mukti” expresses a strong resolve to improve community life, while “Kerta Raharja” expresses the aspiration for a peaceful, just, prosperous society, materially and spiritually.

Use of the Bandung Barat Regency emblem is regulated by Regional Regulation No. 1 of 2013. Its ribbon carries the motto “Wibawa Mukti Kerta Raharja,” whose two phrases express aims for improved community life and a peaceful, just, and prosperous society.
