Borussia Mönchengladbach is a professional football club based in Mönchengladbach, Germany. Its full name is Borussia Verein für Leibesübungen 1900 e.V. Mönchengladbach, and the club currently competes in the Bundesliga, Germany’s top football division. Founded in 1900, it joined the Bundesliga in 1965 and is widely known by the nickname Die Fohlen, meaning “The Foals.”

The club became especially prominent during the 1970s, when it developed a young team recognised for its fast, aggressive style of play. Its main rivalry is with 1.
