1. Fußballclub Union Berlin e. V., commonly known as Union Berlin, is a professional football club based in Berlin, Germany. The club currently competes in the Bundesliga, Germany’s top football division. Its origins date to 1906, when predecessor FC Olympia Oberschöneweide was founded. During the Cold War, the club was based in East Berlin and joined the unified German league structure after reunification in 1990.

After competing in the 2. Bundesliga from 2009 to 2019, Union Berlin earned promotion to the Bundesliga for the first time in its history. The club later reached UEFA competition, including the UEFA Europa Conference League and UEFA Europa League, before qualifying for the UEFA Champions League for the first time. Union is also recognized for its enthusiastic and creative supporters and the chant “Eisern Union,” meaning “Iron Union.”
