The club has shared the record for the most seasons played in the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich and ranks third in the competition’s all-time table, behind Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund. Werder Bremen also has a long-standing rivalry with Hamburger SV, contested in the northern German Nordderby.
