Toulouse is a French professional football club based in the city of Toulouse. Its full name is Toulouse Football Club, also known in Occitan as Tolosa Fotbòl Club. Founded in 1970, the club currently competes in Ligue 1, the top division of French football. It has established a presence in European competition, participating six times and reaching the UEFA Champions League for the first time in 2007.

The club has also played an important role in developing notable footballers, including World Cup-winning goalkeeper Fabien Barthez and international forwards André-Pierre Gignac, Martin Braithwaite, and Wissam Ben Yedder. Its history includes a period of rebuilding after bankruptcy in 2001, after which it returned to the professional divisions.
