AS Monaco, formally Association Sportive de Monaco Football Club, is a professional football club based in Monaco. Founded in 1918, it is affiliated with the French Football Federation (FFF) and competes in Ligue 1, the top tier of French football. The club also participates in the UEFA Champions League (UCL), reflecting its regular presence in European competition.

Although based in Monaco, the club operates within the French football system. Its traditional colours are red and white, and it is known as Les Rouge et Blanc, meaning “The Red and Whites.” AS Monaco has represented Monaco in domestic French football since its foundation and has also reached major European tournaments, including the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup.
