Celta is a Spanish football club based in Vigo, Spain. The club, officially named Real Club Celta de Vigo and commonly known as Celta Vigo or Celta, competes in La Liga. It was founded in August 1923 as Club Celta after the merger of Real Vigo Sporting and Real Fortuna. The team is nicknamed Os Celestes, meaning The Sky Blues, and plays its home matches at Balaídos.

The club’s name comes from the Celtic peoples who once lived in Galicia. Celta has a long-standing rivalry with Deportivo A Coruña in the Galician derby. Its best league finish was fourth place in 2002–03, which led to qualification for the 2003–04 UEFA Champions League. The club also reached the semi-finals of the 2016–17 UEFA Europa League.
