Sevilla Fútbol Club is a Spanish professional football club based in Seville, Andalusia. It competes in La Liga, the top flight of Spanish football, and was formed on 25 January 1890. The club is one of Spain’s oldest football-only sporting clubs, with the Scottish-born Edward Farquharson Johnston among its founders and first president.

The club’s articles of association were registered in Seville in 1905. Sevilla is the most successful football club in Andalusia by titles and has won major domestic and UEFA competitions, including a record seven UEFA Cups/UEFA Europa Leagues. It also has a long-standing rivalry with Real Betis.
